When you are checking for the best time for harvest, you walk the rows and test the fruit for sugar content. Just something we farmers do before we pull the trigger on harvest. As the fog rolls in and the atmospheric temperatures change I'm hoping to have time to canoe the river before the rain hits. Maybe hook that trophy fish while on the water. All this talk is secondary to the harvest. The fruit and the harvest is number one.
I used a combination of pallet knife and brush to create the drama in this work. As you've hopefully seen from my other work, the sky is my passion. Without some drama in the sky I feel that paintings would be flat and uninviting.
My desire is to pull you into the scene, I hope you get this connection. The clouds are now bursting with life giving energy. Better run and take cover!
It may be a good idea for you to work on the tractor today.
